House Clearance Harringay Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement is made by House Clearance Harringay in respect of the financial year ending 31 December 2025. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, transparently, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to modern slavery.

Our Business and Supply Chains

House Clearance Harringay provides house and property clearance services, including sorting, removal, transport, and responsible disposal or redistribution of household items. Our activities are primarily based in the United Kingdom and we work with a range of suppliers, including subcontracted labour providers, vehicle and equipment hire companies, recycling facilities, waste management partners, and suppliers of office and operational materials.

We recognise that modern slavery can occur in any sector and at any point in a supply chain. We therefore seek to identify and address risks not only in our direct operations but also among our suppliers and business partners.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. This applies to all aspects of our business and to everyone who works with or for us, including employees, agency staff, contractors, and suppliers.

Our zero-tolerance policy includes the following commitments. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that engages in or condones modern slavery or human trafficking. We require all staff and contractors to treat people with dignity and respect and to comply with all relevant laws relating to employment, working conditions, and human rights. We reserve the right to terminate relationships with any supplier or contractor who is found to be involved in modern slavery practices or who fails to take adequate remedial action when concerns are raised.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

We are continually strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains. As part of our onboarding process, we assess new suppliers for their ethical standards, labour practices, and compliance with modern slavery legislation. We expect our suppliers to maintain high standards of integrity and to have their own policies and controls in place.

Where appropriate, we carry out audits or request evidence of supplier compliance, such as written policies, staff training records, or independent certifications. For higher-risk categories, including labour providers and waste management partners, we may undertake more detailed checks, site visits, or request corrective action plans. Continued supply is conditional on cooperation with these processes and demonstration of ongoing compliance.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage an open culture where concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. All employees, contractors, suppliers, and members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains.

Concerns can be raised directly with line managers, with senior management, or through our designated internal reporting channels. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will handle all information sensitively and investigate concerns promptly and thoroughly. We do not tolerate victimisation or adverse treatment of anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

Training and Awareness

We provide training and guidance to relevant staff so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery, understand our policies, and know how to report concerns. This includes managers responsible for procurement, supplier management, and frontline operations. We aim to embed awareness of modern slavery risks into our day-to-day decision-making and working practices.

Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to tackling modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, and training through internal reviews, discussions with key suppliers, and assessment of any incidents or reports.

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. Where necessary, we will update our procedures, training, and supplier engagement activities to reflect new risks, lessons learned, or changes in legislation.

This statement has been approved by the management of House Clearance Harringay and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
